🥳 Garmin Fenix Heart Rate Not Working

As pointed out, Garmin supports three ways of heart rate: percentages of a max, percentages of a reserve (max minus resting), and precentages where 100% is at the zone4/5 transition. You can divide the percentage boundaries up any way you would like, but you can only do it using those three methods. I use it mainly to track my Squash workouts. The heart rate tracking on Fenix is very finicky. It often stays in 120s for the first 30 mins or so (my actual heart rate during that time is usually in 160s), then becomes slightly more responsive and shows a peak usually in 160s (my real max heart is in 190s during an intense game). You can broadcast your heart rate data from your watch and view it on paired devices. Broadcasting heart rate data decreases battery life. TIP: You can customize the activity settings to broadcast your heart rate data automatically when you begin an activity ( Activities and App Settings ) . Just got a fenix 5s from cex and it seems to not be tracling heart rate correctly. Not in terms of accuracy, whenever it does tell me it seems relatively accurate, but it rarely does tell me. On my watch face, the 2 metrics that are not working are my heart rate and oxygen saturation. They just read with a double dash -- without the actual Optical heart rate measuring is good for daily heart rate tracking and resting heart rate tracking. However, in sport activities including moving or shaking arms, where watch can slide up and down on the wrist or shake and let outer light come to the sensor, optical HR sensors have difficulty keeping the track of light reflected from the blood. Click on Devices > Settings > User Profile. Now choose Heart Rate & Power Zones > Heart rate. On this screen you can adjust your Maximum Heart Rate by going into the tab with that name, or by Connecting Sensors to The Tacx Training App | Garmin Customer Support. I start the excersice and only if i choose the option of broadcast heart rate it shows the heart rate to my watch, and only for 20 minutes. When i rest and try to see the heart rate from hrm dual same happens shows only for 5 sec. I pair the hrm dual with an other fenix 6 same thing happen. Fenix 5 - Heart rate reading low during short, very high intensity intervals. Yesterday I did some high intensity hill sprints for a change -- 10x10 seconds at ~95% effort up a ~15% gradient, with 2 minute recovery in between. At the top of each sprint I could feel my heart rate was close to maximum but my Fenix 5 was only showing ~120bpm. It seems like the watch calibrates the wrist HR sensor in the beginning, and having a calm, stable heart rate for a few minutes makes the calibration better. I usually do this for maybe five minutes before a run, or while walking down to the gym. It doesn't make the wrist HR perfect, but it makes it a heck of a lot better. My fenix 6 pro first said I had a max HR at 198 when I bought it 4 weeks back. I’m 36 and I have from experience had around 190 as max. I entered my maxHR as 188 and left the auto detect ON and after a run or two it was back to 198 without notice. I checked my pulse history, and the highest measured was 184. Wipe clean bottom of watch (no solvents). For activities I wear the watch a tad higher on wrist and pretty tight. I’m a hairy guy so I’ve also slightly trimmed the wrist area where HRM touches arm/wrist. I was doing a brisk walk and my heart rate was dropping down to 60's. Resting heart rate is usually around 55. 246MS6.
