Biggest chance for oil leaks for this car at this age&mileage are cam cover seal or maybe crank case ventilation. Both are relative easy fixes. If you have 2 right hands you can fix it yourself. could be a vacuum pump leak, thats at the back of the engine, I had this, dropped on the exhaust.

That eccentric ring is there to adjust the play/distance between worm gear (electric motor) and spur gear (steering column).
2004 BMW z4 89K miles 2.5 auto I have changed the valve cover gasket and the oil filter basket gasket. The top of the engine is clean now. I still have an oil leak. It is dripping off the little V shaped shield under the engine compartment. It is not a gusher just a enough to stain the garage floor. It drips whether the engine is hot or cold.
I bought an '04 Z4 several months ago. Seemingly all good at first. Then, intermittently at start up, the EPS warning light would stay on, and there wouldn't be any power steering. I'd turn ignition completely off, remove/replace key, then turn back on. Sometimes this would "fix" it immediately; other times I'd need to repeat the process.

Mike, The radiator fan is controlled by a theromstat which detects the coolant temperature and as it rises above a pre set limit the fan will cut in to reduce the temperature. Sounds like either the thermostat is defective or the temperature sensor. Diagnostic check should identify the fault code.
Wipers not working. Hi guys. Today my wipers started randomly stopping and then wouldn't move again until I switched the car off and then back on again, then they worked fine for a while. When I got home, even when restarting the car they would not move at all. Got home, and found the guide to cleaning the motor and have done that.
